New York City is known as a city that doesn't sleep and after a long work week, Men and women look for an relaxing outlet to spend there weekend. Some go to bars or others go to nightclubs. We got invited to a party out in Staten island a few blocks from the ferry. When we approached the address we came across a warehouse that looked abandoned until we were greeted by man in a suit outside who pointed us through a pathway into the warehouse. Once we walked inside, there were lazes, speakers with a dj, a full bar and decorations of bears and art. We asked these group of kids who was running this event. They told us it was " Brandon Grizzly".While asking around we were So lucky for us that we were able to snag an interview with Brandon Grizzly, a veteran of the NYC scene whose lately turned a lot of his attention to his home borough.

Most “how I got into raving” stories are pretty nuts and I'm guessing yours especially has been pretty crazy, mind telling us it, and how you first started to DJ?

Grizzly: How I got into DJing is I always loved music, I go crazy for it; anyone whose seen me spin before will know what I mean. It moves me in a way I can’t explain. When the drop hits my adrenaline rush just lets loose. Of course I've always love parties, everything about it; the lights, sound, video, the party favors and all the other equipment used. I had a chance to hang behind the booth for an event. It was a crowd of 150 people. I saw how the DJ at the time was transitioning from song to song smoothly and moving the crowd to the beat. It was incredible to see that along with songs I had on my iPod at that time that my friends had never heard of and they liked the tracks so I wanted to share my passion of music to others. I saw DJing as my way to mix songs/genres that I love and share it with people who enjoy it and make them move like it does for me. There are always new songs and genres that I fall in love with and would wanna share them with others. I work hard every day to express myself in the best way and share the music I love and have a passion for. Along the way I met great friends and amazing DJ's like MurMur, BGA ( Brooklyn Ghetto Attack) , Fred Nigma and David Lyons who brought me into the rave scene that I’m now hooked too and love. Also James Jannetti and many others. You know who you are who have helped me improve as a DJ with mixing different styles and always been there on my good and bad days.

"The NYC rave scene is pretty well established, what sort of elements do you envision for the burgeoning Staten scene in contrast to NYC as whole?"

Grizzly: " The NYC rave scene was huge but it became small because of certain people and others issue but i dont wanna get into it cause we would be here all night. I decided to do my own underground events cause i felt it was time to build my own way up , have people enjoy what i love with positive vibes and most important being safe.I never promo it online how other promoters or host do, I just tell 1 person and it spreads out. I could see a full house or half packed but at the end of the day its all about enjoying yourself which is important to me. My team "Grizzly family" are always looking for great locations to throw more events. If anybody wants to join our family and make a difference add me."

" Whats next for you? "

Grizzly: Well i have a few projects that i'm working on for 2017. Defiantly something to look forward too. I wanna make it bigger better and fix all the cracks that I have been seeing lately

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
