Fayetteville's own Mike Wilkes signs 2 Year Contract With Hornets

Mike Wilkes might have been known at Douglas Byrd High School in Fayetteville, NC for being tall but not his basketball skills. The former 2007-2008 center and graduate is known now, he played 2 seasons with the Harlem Ambassadors professional show basketball team where he has been dominating in the paint against other pro teams around the U.S even Canada
Wilkes dream of playing in the NBA has come true as he signed a 2-year contract for $15 million with the Charlotte Hornets.
Wilkes tells React365 "It's a dream come true that a person like myself come from a player with no skills to a player with skills. It's a blessing God gave this opportunity to shine like this."
He also went on and talked about how he believes everything that failed happened within him the past few weeks and months happened for a reason and this is his reason.
Hornets guard Kemba Walker stated Wilkes will fit in perfect with the team and he look forward to seeing him in action.
