President McKinley Monument in Canton, Ohio to be Destroyed

The Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton Ohio has purchased 10,000 acres of land located at Stadium Park in Canton which also includes the marble President William McKinley Monument which was dedicated in 1907. McKinley was assassinated in 1901 and is interred at the Monument with his wife and two deceased children.
Dave Baker, President of the HOF announced after a Press Conference Tuesday that the Monument will be torn down with all the park amenities to accommodate additional structures that will be needed for the new Hall of Fame Village which is currently under construction. Baker did not release further details of what additional facilities were being included in the village project. The HOF is negotiating with the government for the new Monument site which other cities are also being considered such as Niles Ohio.
