The Lake of the Ozarks is no stranger to more exotic members of the animal kingdom with the appearance of piranhas and an alligator sighting, but what was seen lurking near the lake shore near Laurie has everyone's head spinning. Lock up your pets and bring your kids in the house, we have a Missouri tiger at our lake and he doesn't play football.
Late Thursday local resident, Tony DerGrate,had brought his family out for an evening boat excursion.
"We were just sitting there in the water when my wife got this shocked look. I followed her line of sight and sitting on the rocks chewing on what appeared to be a rabbit was this massive tiger. I had never seen anything like it but in zoos!" exclaimed DeGrate.
As he was calling the Morgan County Sheriffs Department other reports of startling images from gaming cameras started rolling in. The tiger had been spotted wandering around various lake homes.
Deputy Rudy Kipling of the Morgan County Sheriffs Department is asking everyone to remain calm as they have several agencies on board in reclaiming the cat. "Keep children and pets in doors. Luckily, we think he is hiding in the vicinity of the Boy Scouts Scout Reservation. They had an event there last weekend but fortunately there shouldn't be anyone there right now with it being out of season. We're getting to the bottom of where this guy came from and hope to take him down without incident to himself or others."
The deputy advised should you see the tiger don't run as this will make you appear to be prey. Stand your ground but back away slowly. The tiger is neat to see but take caution as it is a wild animal.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
