On October 25, 1984. Regina Police Service received a tip that there were two men on Albert Street at a local McDonald's having lunch, the caller said that they match the exact description of the two men that robbed a residence in Yorkton over a block of Velveeta cheese. They left before the city police department arrived to the scene. They traveled northbound onto Albert Street and made a right turn onto Victoria Avenue, not knowing that there was an unmarked police vehicle behind them. Barricades were set by RCMP, City Police, Sheriffs Offce, and the Canadian Armed Forces. As the unmarked cruiser was noticed, it turned into a dangerous high speed chase. (A map of the pursuit is on file with photos) They were found in a trap house on Rae Street doing cocaine. Police raided the property and traced down the owner of the property and arrested the owner for drug possession and stolen good possession . CST.Corey Badin of the Regina Police Service made a press release to the public along with CST. Taryn Broda, PVT. Austin Guenther (CAF) Constable Mike Puk (Traffic enforcement of the RPS) . CST. Corey Badin stated that ''We did not want to risk the lives of endangered people, there are people all over in that area. Lots of civilians. We ordered people to clear the streets''. The full press release can be seen on CBC Regina tonight at 11:00 pm on CKCK Local evening news.

A court date for the two Velveeda robbers will be set for November 18, 1984.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
