Indiana Teacher heads to Broadway

Late Tuesday afternoon, John Butcher got a phone call from a major New York casting agent offering him the lead role in the upcoming holiday production of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol." Although all the details have yet to be ironed out, this will be a Broadway production at a yet to be determined venue. The 60 year old Butcher was totally taken aback by the call, as he had not even known this production was in the works. It seems someone from his hometown had sent a video of him performing the role of Scrooge (which he has done for the past 11 years.) "I haven't even had time to think this through but I'm sure I will take this offer. I've been waiting a life time for a chance like this!" Butcher currently teaches drama at the local junior high and has spent the better part of the last 35 years performing in local musicals. Look for more details on this breaking story in the near future. In the mean time, offer him congratulations when you see him next!
