Officers said the man and woman suspects were shot shortly after 9 a.m. Tuesday morning in Plymouth Township

The incident originally started as a home invasion after the female suspect, who has been identified as Brittney Davis 18 of Plains Township knocked on the door and said that her car was broken down. She told the 12-year-old who answered the door that she needed to use the phone.

The arrest report said when the 12-year-old tried to shut the door to get the phone, the woman pushed it open forcing her way into the home.  Officers said the 12-year-old tried to run, but the woman grabbed him and put him in a headlock.

That’s when the male suspect ran into the home armed with a gun.  The report said the male suspect kicked in the door of 23-year-old Jesus bedroom.

The report said the 12-year-old then heard shots fired.

The male suspect fled the room down the hall, but he still had the gun in his hands, so Sanchez fired another shot at the suspect striking him once again, the reported said.

At the same time, the pre-teen was able to get Davis's hands from around his mouth and yell for help. That’s when his mother, came out of her bedroom.

The report said Davis then forced her way into the mother’s room.  Davis eventually came from Velador’s room with her purse.  The 12-year-old said as Davis headed for the door he heard more shots being fired.

The young man said he saw his brother Velador’s purse from Davis. The woman who was shot then began to crawl on the ground towards a gold-colored car.  The 12-year-old said his mother and 19-year-old brother, Rogelio called 911.

Metro said when officers arrived at the scene they found Jesus standing in the yard with an AK47.  Officers said when they approached Sanchez he immediately dropped the rifle and followed their commands.

Police said as they started checking the home to make sure it was secure they found several bullet holes in the front door and a black semi-automatic handgun.  Investigating further inside the home, officers say they found another handgun lying on the bed and a trail of blood leading from the house down the driveway and to the street.  The gun found on the bed belonged to Sanchez.

The report said he used it to shoot the suspects before grabbing the AK47.

Police said witnesses said the suspects fled the scene in a gold-colored Oldsmobile.  Shortly, before 9:30 a.m. officers received a call from General Hospital personnel saying that they had just had two people arrive at their emergency room with gunshot wounds.

The two people turned out to be the suspects from the home invasion. General Hospital told officers the male suspect was dead.  Davis, was transported to University Medical Center due to the severity of her injuries.

Velador and her four sons were all ok. Davis was booked at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility. She is facing multiple charges including attempted murder with a deadly weapon, home invasion with a deadly weapon, robbery with a deadly weapon

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
