A Chesapeake man only identifiable by his stage name "Johnny Angel" was witnessed taking his guitar out of his car while at work and covering songs in front of nearby businesses in the area. This became an everyday ritual, as Johnny armed with his guitar and a tip jar, played for customers using the store's runway as a stage. "I thought someone was playing a Johnny Cash CD" said witnesses. While other witnesses mentioned his keenness to oldies and how they thought Elvis was back from the dead.
Last week a Recording Company America executive was in the area when his Laptoo Charger broke, so making a pitstop at an electronics store, he had an encounter with Johnny which changed both of their lives.
"He was amazing" the executive said. "I didn't think musicians like him existed anymore, no mic, no amplifiers, no electronics. Just him, his guitar, and an unforgettable voice. I was very surprised he wasn't discovered earlier." As I walked to the store I introduced myself to Johnny and he was very humble, happy and kind. We exchanged numbers and I told Johnny to make sure to contact me after his shift. Johnny did. The next day, Johnny met with the executive and signed a contract, overcome with happines a dream had come true. Last week after working together in and out of recording studios, the executive proclaimed "When I first met the guy, he was humble and happy, but after signing the contract he kept mentioning how this was meant to be, and how he was a star and how he knew this would come."
Catching up with Johnny whom still makes it a point to play in front of the businesses that helped him become a star, we asked him "How does it feel playing in front of your old job, and how does it feel now knowing that you'll never have to work again?"
"Work? Johnny replied, music isn't just work, music is my life, music has made my world. Yes, my world. The regularity in my life has been conquered by music. I was never regular, I was never supposed to be. I am a Star, and I always was going to be a star. I have taken my life, conquered my obstacles, and become a ruler. I am the Emporer."

We'll have more on Johnny as this story develops.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
