Years of dedication to making the music they love has finally paid off for one local favorite, The Tea Bagger's. The band will be making their musical debut at the world famous, Whisky A Go Go, in West Hollywood, Calif. on Nov. 26. Drummer/Back up vocals Daymel “2Long” Murray said, “This is a huge thing for us, a big step, it’s a big venue, where big names have played.” According to the Whisky A Go Go website, the venue has been an important part of the rock ‘n’ roll scene since 1964, when it opened and has hosted legendary rock bands, such as, the Doors, Janis Joplin and Led Zeppelin. Daymel remembers watching a band play at Whisky A Go Go on TV in 1999 and looking over at his dad saying, “wouldn’t it be cool to play there.” Now 17 years later, Daymel and his band mates will soon make it happen. The band, The Tea Bagger's, originally came together in July 2007, with Daymel joining the group the following April. In addition to Daymel, the band currently consists of Avery "Slap Ass" Tucker on Lead Guitar/Vocals, George " Cheddar Biscuit " Mosley on Bass/Rhythm Guitar. Daymel said a friend started making phone calls to Whisky A Go Go, nearly a year ago and finally received a call saying, “come on down.”The Tea Bagger's recently cut two new songs, “Triangle Formation” and “Fade Away,” which will soon be available on iTunes, Amazon and other download outlets, where their current and 1 single in the world, “Tea Bag Her With Vengeance,” can be found. “We’ve (The Tea Bagger's) been really busy with the two new songs,” Daymel said. “This has happened really fast and we’re pumped!”

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
