Winner of Canterbury Park’s 2016 Texas Hold'em Tournament Donates Prize To Charity!

On Thursday October 20, Louis Lee of Saint Paul, Minnesota won the weekly Texas holdem tournament at Canterbury Park Casino. Almost immediately after winning the tournament Mr. Lee pledged to donate all his winnings to the “Hlaus Nkauj Thaib Teb” foundation which Mr. Lee is a board member of.

When asked why he wanted to donate all of his winnings, Mr. Lee stated “I play for the excitement not for the prize”. Mr. Lee was offered a $500,000 contract to compete in the Royale Casino Tournament in Las Vegas but declined the offer due to prior commitments he made to the “Hlaus Nkauj Thaib Teb” foundation.

However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
