Lifelong Cubs fan Larry Piskowski, died on October 22nd from heart failure just minutes after the Cubs beat the Dodgers and punched their ticket to the World Series. The 79 year old Piskowski has had his fill of heartbreak over the years, but never quite like this. He was just 8 years old when his beloved Cubbies lost in 7 games to the Tigers back in '45, and he always knew deep down that his team would make it back to the Series. He just didn't think it would take 71 years to get back. His wife, Mary, said he was always saying "I hope they do it soon, I won't be around forever". Larry's last words were "Holy Cow, my f'ing chest hurts, and save me a beer Harry"! In lieu of flowers, Larry's will dictated that funeral attendees place polish sausages on his casket, and one dead goat.
