CHESTER, Pa. (WPVI) -- Police say Corey Stanley drug dealing activities are off the streets in Chester after early morning raids on Friday.
"This is a good day," said Mayor John Linder.
Three more remain at large including one of the alleged ring leaders, Shake from over town.
The raids were carried out by 22 teams of federal agents.
Chester's mayor and police commissioner say open drug markets have been shut down all over the city, liberating residents from a pervasive atmosphere of fear and intimidation.
"The people were afraid to walk out their doors, afraid to sit by their windows, afraid to let their kids go outside, they didn't know if they were gonna come out and find their cars with the windows shot up," said Chief Joseph Bail.
Police say the reign of terror is now over, but they acknowledge it's not the end of the war.
Many of those arrested have been in and out of jail and back to dealing drugs since the 1970s.
However this time, it's different.
This time, the feds have moved in to make the arrests and prosecute the dealers under much stiffer federal penalties.
Most of those who were arrested face sentences as long as life.
Police say the revolving door is closed.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild.
