Kent Police have reopened a case into a series of incidents in 1987 involving a Yamaha RD400.
The owner claimed at the time that many miles had been added to the speedometer despite the vehicle not moving from his garage.
At the time a bike matching the description and registration was witnessed doing double the speed limit in the Aylesford and Ditton area along the A20 with a witness describing the rider as a grinning youth completely ragging the nuts off it! Despite extensive enquiries at the time the case went cold but due to a recent new lead via popular social networking site Facebook the case has been reopened.
A spokesperson for Kent Police described the new lead as very positive and that they were conversing with officers at Northumbria Constabulary as to the whereabouts of a new suspect. The suspect is believed to be residing in that area of the country and has been positively identified after a member of the public called the local police regarding his shandy drinking habits.
Northumbria Constabulary are currently looking for a middle aged man believed to be related to the former owner of the motorcycle.
Vehicle theft and joyriding both carry possible custodial sentences. We hope the suspect is apprehended before he commits another crime of ordering a Lager Shandy in the North East. Shocking behaviour! The image displayed is a library picture and the original motorcycle was white with red decals.
Please contact Kent Police or the Northumbria Constabulary if you have any further information regarding this crime. The reopened case continues.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
