Ohio women Jami Estacion, 27, of Wooster and Kari Immel, 28, of Millersburg Ohio were on vacation with family in Durango, Colorado when her and her sister went for a early morning jog. Little did they know they would be face to face with the wild and Soon making a decision they never imagined making. Life or death wasn't a thought for these two but saving a wilds life was.
"We were walking up the mountain when we heard a cry. It was the sound of fear and pain rolled in a couple of continuous crying outbursts. At first we weren't sure what it was but knew it wasn't friendly. We thought it was in the distance but soon realized it was closer than we anticipated. Our hands got clammy and our heart nearly started pounding out of our chest. We knew we were closer to it than we wished to be and we were miles away from our cabin."
That's when they seen a helpless cub wrapped in trash nearly choking to death. They seen the mother bear nearby pleading for her cub to be set free but she kept her distance.
"At that moment all I could think was I needed to save him", Jami stated,
So she sprung into action. "I wasnt thinking this could be my last breath! It was like I was totally someone else and fear left my body and motherly instincts took over. The funny thing is I'm only an aunt but I guess your instincts come naturally."
She started ripping and tearing while her sister stood as a look out. After what seemed like a crazy whirlwind of 3 hours the cub was finally free in less than 10 minutes and staggering to his mother.
"The bears started walking the opposite direction as Us. When suddenly mama changes directions. Starts charging toward us and then stops a few feet in front of us and stands on her hind legs and literally waves with a big momma bear comforting growl as if to say thank you! And reuniting with her cub and walking off into the distance! We literally started sobbing all the way back to the cabin. It was a beautiful heartwarming feeling I don't think we could ever explain."
The woman always thought of nature and animals to have personalities and compassion but their vacation just put everything in perspective.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
