Denny Solomona has signed a twenty-five year contract extension at Castleford Tigers.

Castleford Tigers can confirm that Denny Solomona has signed a twenty-five year contract extension, keeping him with the Tigers until at least the end of the 2043 season.

The Samoan international has quickly become a fans favorite with his acrobatic try scoring abilities, scoring a record breaking 42 tries in the 2016 season.

Solomona joined the Tigers ahead of the 2015 season from Championship side, London Broncos. The 23-year old played over 20 games for the London club, scoring 10 tries in the process.

He’s certainly a favorite with fans and team mates alike at the Tigers, picking up a Man of Steel nomination at the end of last season, alongside Hull FC's Gareth Ellis and eventual winner, Danny Houghton.

Denny is currently enjoying a well earned break with his partner after playing for Samoa at the beginning of the off-season, but can’t wait for the new season to begin:

“I’m really happy to have extended my deal with Cas. I feel really settled here and I love playing with these boys. 2017 will be a big season for us and I’m looking forward to the challenge ahead.”

Tigers Head Coach Daryl Powell is over the moon to secure Denny’s future with the Tigers:

“I'm delighted that Deej has agreed to extend his contract with the club. After a slow start in 2015 he had an enormous 2016, being the best winger in Super League. His speed and his ability with the ball gives us an major advantage in our game. I have no doubt that he will continue to improve and we will see the very best of Denny Solomona in the next few years.”

Castleford Tigers 2017 Season Tickets have already passed the 1000 marker, with a 10 increase on sales compared to this time last year. Click here to find out how you can secure yours at our early bird prices.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
