CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Two men and a 18-year-old boy face robbery charges Tuesday after holding up a clerk at an east Charlotte convenience store.

It happened at a Sam's Mart at 6300 Albemarle Road.

Convenience store clerk Mussie Girmay said he was scared for his life when he was robbed at gunpoint Monday night.

"This is the first time this has ever happened to me. I was just scared," he said.

Police said it was just before 10 p.m. when Corey Porter and a 17-year-old walked in wearing masks and armed with a gun and demanded money.

"I only saw the guy with the gun so I just concentrated my eye on him. Then the other guy came and asked me to open the register,"

Once he gave them the money, Girmay said the suspects weren't satisfied and demanded more.

"He said, ‘That's it? Where's the money?'” Girmay said.

The manager said the clerk followed protocol by keeping his hands up and away from the register, giving the robber the money he asked for and then immediately locking the door, calling the manager and 911.

After that emergency call, Girmay said he was surprised to see cops already on their way.

"Soon as I try to call the police, the police show up,” he said.

Police said a person who saw the men before the robbery alerted officers already in the area. They found Worthy and the teen running away from the gas station.

They were charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Police said a third man, Corey Porter, was charged with conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
