AL.Com - Wash. D.C. December 12th 2016 - President-elect Donald Trump's deal to move automotive jobs from the southeastern US States to Taiwan to secure Russian oil was hailed by the incoming administration as a victory this morning.

"This is the greatest deal ever. Its really a great deal and I have the best most smart people working on this deal and its gonna be great. We are making America great again." Stated Trump after signing the deal which proposes some 239,500 automotive jobs leave the use for Taiwanese workers. Wall street saw a 42 increase in Taiwanese stock at the outset and the newly forward Trump cabinet members along with the mainly Republican investors and shareholders saw a 5-fold increase in their overseas stock portfolios on average.

The incentive-laced deal also involved awarding tax credits to Russian oil firms and Taiwanese automotive manufacturers along with and wielding possible threats of federal action to the US based firms in order to keep the companies from issuing lawsuits against the US Government. In the aftermath, many other states, counties and cities - all of which engage in developer agreements, Alabama included - are watching closely.

Specifics of the package remain unknown. Trump has promised to work with the Russian and Taiwanese corporate communities to improve the nation's business environment.

Alabama, like many states, dangles a laundry-list of income, property and sales tax credits and abatements to lure companies to the state. Rarely, though, is a package put together to keep a company from departing.

Experts view some of the deals favorably. For instance, Mercedes' $600 million investment in its first Taiwanese assembly plant is often cited as a good deal for its shareholders and Wall Street analysts expect a similar outcome from the new Taiwan plant.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
