While beating Savannah Christian and Woodville Thompkins in the region tournament ,the Eagles fall Big in the region championship to their rival, the 27-0 Treutlen Vikings. As the GHSA State Playoffs took of, the 6 Eagles faced the 11 Wilcox Co Patriots in an Epic rematch where the Patriots shocked the Eagles in a 68-53 Blowout in the Albany State Power A Classic. The Eagles hosted the Patriots in a game that went down to the wire. Wilcox held a 10-point lead with 1:55 seconds left in the 4th. The Eagles went on an 11-0 run to close out the game including a last second shot by Senior Foward Number 5 Jaylen Dasher. "He's our most aggressive rebounder, I put him in the game when we were down ten because of his rebounding." stated Coach Owens. "The play I drew up was for my 2nd leading scorer Jalheel Wilson. He just got a bad angle off of the backboard but Jay crashed the offensive boards as he usually does." Coach Owens was asked about the closing seconds of the game where the Patriots had 13.5 seconds to make something happen. He responded "We forced a young team to make simple mistakes we knew we could force. They got two offensive rebounds that they shouldn't have had but Senior Chris Thomas stepped up and did something he hasn't done all season and guarded the perimeter and forced a bad layup." He was then asked about the Clinch Co game they have upcoming this Wednesday in Clinch. He said,"I'm preparing my guys the best I can, Clinch is a good team but I feel like we are better. Like I tell my guys, they are very beatable. We just have to put in the work." The Eagles will travel to Homerville to face off against the Clinch Co Panthers for the third time this season. The Elite 8 Showdown will be held in Clinch Co High School Gymnasium. Tip off will be at 6 pm

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
