February 27, 2014 - A recent report from the Associated Press confirms what many online viewers have suspected all along. April the giraffe is not pregnant. In a study set up by Phoenix Online University, researchers planted the idea of a baby giraffe watch in the news media. Thousands of people took the bait and flocked to the internet to stare at a giraffe for hours at end. The researchers were conducting a study on how much time the internet community would be willing to waste on watching a fat giraffe walk around a small stall. The researchers have compiled data that shows that the combined viewing hours would have been enough for people to accomplish great things. Dr. Ahmad Bulacky, head of the study, states that with the amount of hours wasted on giraffe watching, people could have built 5000 homes for the homeless, built a wall along the American/Mexican border, learned 20 new languages, or even written a novel. We sought out one avid viewer to get her thoughts on the hoax. We located Amanda Estrada who has watched April the giraffe from the beginning. Estrada states that she feels deceived by the study and feels like she's lost a chunk of her life she can never get back. Fortunately, after finally bathing and getting dressed for the first time in four days, Estrada says she's ready to move on with her life. She plans on watching the live feed of the koala birth scheduled to take place next week.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
