COZUMEL, MX, Friday March 31, 2017 – Trump Group Luxury Hotels and Resorts, which recently announced plans for an all-inclusive luxury resort in Cozumel, MX, officially broke ground yesterday.

And, alongside Mayor Perla C. Tun and President Enrique Peña Nieto , Trump’s Excellence Group revealed additional details of the highly anticipated $250 million project.

Set to open its doors to guests in the first half of 2018, Sting Ray Bay will be the first adults-only resort of its kind in Cozumel’s tranquil and fragile area North of Mescalitos.

Additionally, the property will house eight restaurants and seven bars onsite, all thoughtfully designed to cater to the whim of every individual guest. A private plane jet port will be built where mangroves are that will be drained.

From upscale martini lounges to high-energy sports bars, the developers are promising that guests will find a convenient array of options for every mood and taste, as well as an onsite tennis court and outdoor activities area, luxury spa, and archery range.

“We are excited to create a unique, world-class destination for Cozumel and its community, thereby, laying foundations for new opportunities for Mexico and its people,” said Excellence Group’s Co-CEO Eric Trump.

“Sting Ray Bay is a visionary resort designed to provide exceptional experiences in travel, hospitality, and luxury service…Sting Ray Bay will further position Cozumel as one of the world’s leading travel destinations while creating jobs, increasing tourism, and providing overall economic growth.”

He said the project would create more than 1,500 jobs for Cozumelenos during the construction phase and a staff of 700 would be employed when the resort opens its doors next year. Future plans include a toll highway from Cuba to Sting Ray Bay.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
