Trump’s newest executive goes unnoticed because of travel ban fiasco. So far the Trump administration has remained silent as to how the new bill was placed in the order.
Washington State, Idaho and Arizona will be raising the age of majority and drinking age for males from 21 to 23. The slight increase comes after a 4 year study of traffic related accidents, arrests, road rage and rising numbers of tickets issued to males 18-21. These numbers are far above those of females in the same age range, but fall significantly in males over 23. The law will go into effect in Washington State May 1, 2017 and on May 15, 2017 in Idaho and Arizona. Several other western states are considering similar laws.
Despite staunch opposition, Washington State has already agreed to comply with the order to go into effect May 1, 2017 and Arizona, Idaho and will enforce the order on May 15th.
Experts speculate that the change in the law is due in part to political obligations as well. Following the decriminalization of marijuana in Washington, the prison populations have seen significant drops in incarcerated persons. Unfortunately for taxpayers the relief on state resources came with a hefty fine. States are now obligated to pay millions of dollars in “breach of contract” court deals to private prisons, Including Arizona’s infamous tent city which for the first time in around 30 years has not suffered from any overpopulation.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
