Gabriel Cohen, 32, from Atlanta was under the influence of drugs on November 6, 2016 when he was driving with two passengers on Glenwood Avenue.

Cohen (known as DRoc) pulled in the Marathon Gas Station (which is located east of Candler Road) with intent to rob the station.

As his passengers, Tyquavious Robinson, 19, and Jaquavious Robinson, 17, from Decatur, walked in the store to rob the cashier, Cohen proceeded to pull out a gun and pointed it at two people who were pumping gas at the time and pistol whipped them and demanded their belongings.

While the Robinsons were emptying the cash register, shots were fired outside at the pumps. Nobody was hit, but two vehicles were riddled with bullets.

As police were en route, Cohen joined the Robinsons and proceeded to loot the store, then took off in their vehicle in a westbound direction.

Police eventually caught up with the car and a high speed chase ensued on Glenwood and then southbound on Candler.

As Cohen attempted to get on the westbound 20 freeway, he ran off the on ramp and into the grass. He was then taken in custody.

The following day, he posted $30,000 bond and was released until his sentencing date on May 2nd, 2017.

The Robinsons were taken into custody and released on $10,000 bond and trial proceedings are underway currently.

Upon sentencing, Cohen was taken into custody at the DeKalb County Jail awaiting transfer to Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Prison known as Jackson.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
