ESPN is currently working on a 30 for 30 tentatively titled "Leave Me Alone: The Real Inspiration For Lil Darryl". The show will talk about how former NFL player, and Little Rock native, Reggie Swinton not only went from short bus and resource classes to the NFL, but how he also inspired comedian Rickey Smiley to create his iconic character "Lil Darryl". "My childhood was rough. I was ugly and I had a really bad studdering problem. So I was constantly bullied in school..." said Swinton. "I would get so mad at people picking at me that I couldn't think of anything to say. It's like I studdered in my head. So I would just say 'L-L-L-Leave Me Alone!' and run as fast as I could to the little bus I rode to school in. Swinton recalls the day he met comedian Rickey Smiley. "Man I actually hated Rickey. He was friends with Michael Irvin. And every damn time he saw me he would crack You So Ugly jokes. One day, we were having drinks after a huge win. Me, Rickey, and Mike hung out in Michael's 'Candy Room'. Went back in LIT and hung with the rest of the party, and Rickey was just letting me have it. I-I-I mean one joke after another. I closed my eyes and started thinking about my child hood. And then it happened. I yelled L-L-L-LEAVE ME ALONE!!! and then took off running. 6 months later I see Rickey doing a stand-up, and he's doing ME! From the look, to the voice, the story. EVERYTHING! He even got Leave Me Alone trademarked. But instead of calling the character Lil Reg, he called him Lil Darryl." Swinton says that he and Smiley are now friends, but every so often Smiley will still an ugly joke just to get under my skin. "I was in Dallas for a retired player luncheon, and I met up with Mike. Low and behold Rickey was there with him and they were both grinning from ear to ear. Rickey immediately says 'Look at this ugly motha******! Mike, u can't bring that damn thing inside the luncheon! Chain that thang to a pole outside and hope it stays until the luncheon is over!" Leave Me Alone is scheduled to air on July 24th on ESPN.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
