Crocodile found in the Trinity River

A TWO-metre crocodile was spotted swimming in the Trinity River in Fort Worth, according to a local man.

Tristan Ima Lion said he saw the beast while driving.

“I was driving along 820 and was looking out on to the water when I saw something,” Mr Lion said.

“I got out and it looked right at me, then did a weird little backpedal and dived down under the water. It would have been about 2m long.”

Mr Lion said he had lived in Fort Worth for a little over a year and never seen anything like it before.

After suggestions from the community that what he saw may have been a lungfish, Mr Lion did some research.

“I can tell you now, that’s definitely not what it was,” he said.

“And it 100 per cent was not a log, it was definitely something living,” he said after a video was posted the same day about a crocodile in the Downtown Fort Worth area.

The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
