Alan Spaulding was on quite a run. With a 3 day total of $151,283, many thought he was on course for a game show record. That all ended with one phone call. Spaulding, who hails from L.A. won the rare opportunity to be a contestant on the New York show back in Nov. and scheduled his vacation. Wednesday, he received a call from his employer, The Clinton Foundation, where he is a PR staffer. He was informed that they could not extend his vacation to accommodate his success and that if he didn't return he would lose his job. Sources inside the foundation said that even though he had appealed to his bosses and had found someone to fill in, it wasn't enough. Since then Spaulding has reported that he has returned to work and but declines to comment further. NBC spokesman has said that the network is disappointed in the chain of events and promise to invite Spaulding back for a rematch in its tournament of champions this November. This marks the first time that a winning contestant has ever quit while ahead. While the story is sad, it appears to have a silver lining. It is said that Spaulding has interview offers from several talk shows and on Fox news. We will keep you posted.
Of course this is not true, but written just to show how easy is for lies and misrepresentations to be perpetuated, like the president not paying attention to the disabled boy and so many other memes.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
