A typical college scene might feature some colorful outfits once the fall semester gets into full swing, but one kid in particular really jumped the gun.
"It was a little out of place" says Liberal Arts professor Jim Keen of the student's outfit. "We don't usually pull the sweaters out of the mothballs here in south Texas until January at the earliest. But here's this kid in my lecture, second week of class and he looks like he's ready for Jack Frost to come knocking."
The freshman in question hails from Oregon and is enrolled at the university on an underwater basket-weaving scholarship. When reached for comment, he seemed as confused as his peers and professor.
"I just ran out of clean clothes, ya know? Like I opened my dresser drawer this morning and was like 'dang, that's my last pair of Calvin Klein's'. Then I went to the closet and noticed my last polo was in the dirty stack from yesterday. I didn't wanna miss today's lecture on the wide use and applications of bamboo, so I threw on this cardigan and went out the door."
Further questions revealed that "Dave" - as the student identified himself - had never lived outside his parent's home before.
"It was one of those things back home, like the dirty's are here in a stack by the dresser or strewn across the bathroom floor one night, and by the time I'd get home from school they'd be folded on my bed. I didn't question it, and it never took more than a week for that to happen."
As of press time, Dave was planning to phone his parents as he enjoyed a bowl of Ramen.

"Maybe they can explain this phenomena to me, Mom was always around the house more than I was."

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
