Film, theater, and television actress Gena Rowlands on Wednesday took to the stage at the Silver Glow Playhouse in Hollywood, CA, alongside character actor Bruce Dix (Primetime Emmy winner for his portrayal of wholesome, but troubled, Reverend Templeton in the hit television program The Waltons). Both thespians came to address an array of local middle school drama students on the subject of acting.

Most of those in attendance had hoped to ask practical questions of Ms Rowlands concerning how best to prepare for demanding roles and how to get one's foot in the door in such a difficult industry, but the discussion soon turned tense as Mr. Dix unexpectedly produced an Emmy award from beneath his blazer and proceeded to hoist it above his head while everyone in the intimate theater looked on in amazement. "My Waltons Emmy," he dubbed it, as he held it above his head. When audience members, and even Ms Rowlands herself, attempted to break the silence, Mr. Dix proceeded to wave the Emmy violently back and forth and produced what might best be described as an animalistic, guttural moan that caused bewilderment and further silence from the crowd.

"My Waltons Emmy," Mr. Dix said once again when, after several minutes of forced silence, he proceeded to cradle the statuette in his lap. Ms. Rowlands, visibly distraught and confused by the actions of her stage mate, did her best to return to questions from the young attendees.

Mr. Dix, never addressing his audience during the entire event, appeared to enter a catatonic state while gazing down at the golden statue in his lap. By the time the hour-long event had reached its end, Mr. Dix concealed the Emmy award once again beneath his blazer and took a bow before shuffling off stage. As he passed behind the curtain he could be heard muttering the phrase, "My Waltons Emmy," in several different tonal variations.

Mr. Dix's agent couldn't be reached, or identified, for further comment.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
