West Wind. Once a upper middle class neighborhood of the Hueytown community, this subdivision is now the subject of grand controversy. Just this past week the Jefferson Co Health Deptartment began an undercover investigation into allocations of residents living in filthy and unsafe conditions. Several neighbors have complained multiple times to city hall this past month. "The smell is atrosious" , "it smells like my neighbors are keeping a dead body in their basement" , and "I saw a family of mice moving to another house because they said the living conditions were hazardous to their health", were just a few of the comments we heard today while talking to neighbors.
While several houses need attention, one man we spoke with (who wishes to remain anonymous) said he is certain the worst offender lives on Post Oak Dr.

Residents are upset. The police are at a loss for words. The city government is pondering a new city ordinance to deal with this matter.

After speaking with authorities from the health department this afternoon, Fox 6 News has learned that you can be removed from your home for excessive hoarding and unsanitary living conditions. It is always a good idea to give your house a good cleaning once every few months. Professional services like Merry Maids or Servpro are good resources to use if you need help.

As to this situation, the Hueytown City Council plans to discuss a possible solution at next weeks council meeting. It would seem a regulation will be passed sooner rather than later.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
