The Sports Authority, once the largest full line sporting goods retailer in the nation, is set to make a partial come back. The company has looked back tracing their steps and can now pin point the exact day every began to go downhill for them. On July 29th, 2009, Brian Roth of store 597 Flint was let go due to no fault of his own. In an attempt to save payroll, new DM Danilo Carter began systematically removing those of high seniority and at the maximum of the pay scale in every store in his district. These folks after years of hard work, commitment, and dedication all suddenly developed a "performance problem". This created the tool to be used to remove those who, to the contrary, had annual reviews clearly stating that they've been exceeding expectations for well over a decade. Upon blowing the whistle on this and other illegal workplace activities, an investigation was launched by the company who found truth in what had been reported to them. The company then did the unthinkable by turning a blind eye to their findings and supporting the wrong doers. From this point on, since the company had let some of their very best people go, things began to unravel and go downhill for them. Stores that used to do close to 5 million in sales annually suddenly were having trouble pulling in 3. "It all seems so obvious to us in hind sight so we now know exactly where to begin making our big come back" one official said. With these new findings, we would like to make Flint our new flagship store. We hope to get some of our old people back at all cost promising them all big raises, better benefits, season tickets to all Lions, Pistons, Redwings, and Tiger games, and a work environment based on mutual respect. We are in hopes of getting the man himself Brian Roth back too offering complete control of the stores sound system. We will update this story as things progress.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
