The fast food giant has vowed to change their highly unhealthy foods to a vegan menu. The home of the Big Mac has come under fire in the past, with many finding them at fault for America's obesity epidemic. Addictive foods with high caloric intake are easily attainable with the ever popular Dollar Menu. McDonald's CEO, Steve Easterbrook went public Monday with his promise to feed McDonald's patrons with the healthiest foods available. -"I began my journey of eating healthy in 2015. My weight was at its peak and I was borderline diabetic. I was on a plethora of medications, all due to my destructive diet. I was lucky to find a great nutritionist who put me on the right track. I went completely vegan. It wasn't easy of course, changing my ideas of what I thought tasted good, and understanding that those things were not what I wanted in my body. By 2017 I no longer was in fear of becoming a diabetic, and am no longer on any medications. All because I changed my diet. That was my lightbulb moment. I could no longer consciously serve billions of people such unhealthy food. Either I stepped down as CEO, and continue to watch those around me die slowly. Or I could use my business as a way to change the food that peoplefeed themselves and their children." When asked about whether he believes his business and stocks will plummet, the McDonald's CEO had this to say - "I am not under any delusions that this will be something that people will except with open arms. It, like many lifestyle changes willtake time. I anticipate monetary loss as well. But no matter the loss or public concerns, I will not waver. We will lose some McDonald's regulars sure, but we will also create a new following and in the process teach the world to eat better." The vegan menu has already been implemented in the UK, where Easterbrook is from. "The changes in the UK McDonald's have been promising. I am confident that Americans will be willing, and happy to swap the burgers for a Mushroom-Quinoa Burger" - Some of the new vegan items are scrambled tofu in place of eggs. BBQ Chickpea & Cauliflower Flatbread, and Tuscun Chicken sandwich. The meat items will be made from mock meat made from plant Protien and comes in a variety of tastes and textures. Some people we asked about the changes have had strong opinions. Mary from buffalo NY, said, " If I wanted to eat vegan I'd go to a vegan restauran. If I want a cheese burger and fries I go to McDonald's" Robert from Minnesota, said " I will never eat at McDonald's again. I'll go to Burger king!" At seeing the public's distress over the loss of their favorite fastfood fare, Easterbrook said " change doesn't happen overnight, and neither will this. But I truly believe McDonald's will be a place that families will feel comfort in knowledge that their no longer ingesting unhealthy food."

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
