Brandon Bridges has a vision. For years he has considered himself a man that doesn't believe in God. After a session of medicinal healing, that all changed Saturday Night.

"It was like I heard God's voice, asking me to repent, and start spreading the word, of the love of Jesus Christ.... Knowing I was wrong all of these years, I had to make it up to Him, it was...Divine Intervention"

Just in time too, he said. He had been looking for a way to increase his finances, a new job. We asked Brandon what made him choose to be a Minister instead.

"You know, after everything came to me, I realized, money isn't all that important. I have my family, my kids, a place to live, and I'm perfectly comfortable. What better way than to thank our God for that, and serve him through the ministry, it's better than any job that I can think of.. After all of the events that have occurred, I have simply decided to be humble and spread the Word of the Lord"

Brandon will be ordained this month and will begin planning to provide a place where people can gather to worship.

Where you ask? His backyard.

We went on scene to see how this would work, and he says God has given him a plan for it all. There's an area with seating for the congregation, a "kids club", so you can focus on the Word of God, and also, a pool and outdoor kitchen so church-goers will be encouraged to stay throughout the sermon.

"I believe this is how God wants it, have as many people as we can fit, and when the first church fills up, we'll expand, we'll just keep expanding. The Word of God, it needs to reach as many as possible with the way this country is going. And that can be done thanks to the generous help of people in his congregation"

I had to ask, "Why your backyard?"

"Well, it's a start, and I plan to expand our Church to a larger area in the future, possibly at the old Blockbuster Video, with the loving and generous support of our congregation. God doesn't care about how the church is set up and what amenities there are (Though this may change in the future), he just wants to know that people are coming to worship him, to give their all, and truly free themselves through the Holy Spirit."

Pastor Brandon's first service will be the last Sunday of October, after he is ordained. His first sermon will be titled: "Give More, Get More - How God uses your money to bless you" and will be followed by a fundraiser pool party along with food provided by volunteers.

Pastor Brandon is accompanied by his Wife, Bree, who is very excited that he received God's word when he did, despite troubling times.

"You know, there's a lot of things he does, some things I question, but, I trust him. Why he decided to be a Pastor now, when we need money, I'll never know. I may not ever get that dream car now... but you know what? Giving to God makes it all worth it.

Phil Smith, a long time friend stood behind Pastor Brandon's sudden enlightenment "This church is different folks, all proceeds and tithes will be going to God and his works. Brother Brandon hopes to see you there to see God's awesome power flow through the congregation. If you're worried about not having cash, not to worry, there are ATM's in the reception area that conveniently has large bill denominations and just a small convenience fee.

When Pastor Brandon finds a way to open another church in New Orleans, his Wife and Friends fully support him and will be helping minister the Word at these locations.

"My goal is to keep growing, promoting God's will by spreading the love, always being humble, and providing a place for thousands of people to come worship one day.. I really hope to be the next Joel Osteen."

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
