As of October 3, 2017 there has been a Nation wide outbreak of students on strike against all colleges and universities. It was first reported to stated in Yakima, Washington at the Yakima Valley College where students from an English 102 class decided to not participate in any further academic activity because they felt the material they felt "school was too expensive, to be working through all this homework, and not getting cut any slack." The students felt that the money they invested in school wasn't far enough worth the amount of stress and headaches they endure when undergoing all of the homework. One student started the movement by quoting, "Why should we even do all this work for our teacher anyways? Without us students they wouldn't have a job! As a matter a fact the entire economy would break without student!" The strike began with all of the students participating in the class and then they made it a movement for the entire student body. Once this was making national news that an entire campus was closed down due to students not attending class or further participating in their education, many other students from other colleges or universities began to participate also.

This is now America's largest strike in all of history. With every college and university participating the world fears that the school system will collapse. They even fear of this causing an effect on high schools or grade schools where younger children may be influenced to stop learning and start striking. There would be terrible consequences for all of the young students bringing the crucial education they need to develop in life to a halt.

Was this nation wide strike a cry for help? Was it student wanting easier homework? Cheaper tuition? Or simply wanting their professors to value all their hard work? Well, what we do know is that it brought an up rise to many peoples lives and it may be time to start hearing and meeting some of these demands.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
