NEW YORK - A group of players who are frustrated over their teammates' protests during the playing of the national anthem is banding together to form their own counter-protest, said a source involved in the discussion.

"If they are going to protest, then we are too! When I kneel, I'll be doing it to protest these libtards that keep trying to take my guns away. We need to show support for our second amendment rights!" said an unidentified player. Another player, who voted for President Donald Trump, voiced his support for the counter-protest by saying "Trump is our President and people need to unite behind him. I'll be on my knee to show that. I gratefully kneel before Trump to give him the respect he deserves. That's what real Americans do."

Several other players indicated they are "outraged" by the way our veterans are treated. "We'll be taking a knee [to] raise awareness, to show that we support our vets. They have given so much for our country. They need better treatment and care. We are kneeling for them."

When asked why this protest was necessary, a source said, "As people in the public eye, we have a responsibility to use our platform to promote the American ideals we support. The vets can't do it, the gun owners can't do it, so we have to. Those people need a voice and we are going to be it."

Reaction on social media was overwhelmingly positive."It's about time people started protesting for the things that I believe in! We need to stand up to these elites and take our country back! MAGA KNEEL4TRUMP" posted one internet user.

Some fans are taking the counter-protest to the stands, vowing to stay seated during the playing of the national anthem. "We all need to be together on this." said one fan on the condition of anonymity. "Everyone should sit to show our love for the things that make our country great, guns, vets, and the flag."

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
