Sampay, is once again facing Felony charges for the attempted murder charge for the shooting Tuesday morning, the Houma Police Department said. Both Sampay and the other suspect, 29-year-old James Ellender are still at large and warrants have been issued for their arrest.

The victim was shot about 12:24 a.m. in the area of Prospect and Cotouaux and was transported to a local hospital with multiple gunshot wounds, the Houma Police Department said. He has been listed in serious critical condition.

4 years ago, Houma Police said, authorities responded to a incident at Dunn St. and Dewey St.They found a 25-year-old man with gun shot wounds to the right leg, lower back, an right arm.

The victim was taken to Terrebonne General Medical Center with serious injuries and later named Sampay as the shooter, police said.

The next day, Sampay turned himself in and was charged with attempted first degree murder. Prosecutors later reduced the charge to aggravated assult with seriously body injure.

Assistant District Attorney Greg Gro, who prosecuted Sampay, in 2015, said the latest incedent this shooting was an is frustrating because it could have been prevented had those people of past showed up for court to proceed the case.

?(Assistant District Attorney Jarret Jordan) and I tried the case on him, but the star witness did not show for court,” Gro said. “A lot of times when you’re dealing with that element of society in cases where witnesses don’t come forward or show up in court, this is the result.”

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
