Poverty in Africa is so rife such that if one doesn't get formal education, they fall into abject poverty. A UN report in 2015 showed that 8 in 10 africans think college education is the only sucess.

For Joseph Kalimbwe, it has been a rough road. Born in one of africa's poorest country, Zambia. He lost his father at the age of 2. When he turned 11, his mother also died. After high school, he had to work in the street to make some few dollars but was removed from his job after leading his friends to revolt against a corrupt boss.

His uncle then took him to college across the border in Namibia to attend University of Namibia. While at college, the youngster joined the student board after he & his classmates were mistreated. He rose through the lader to becoming president of the student board. But it was never easy he recalls in a foreign land. He commanded respect among students and became a popular figure at the college campus.

But things changed, in June this year the ambitious young man was expelled from the university after he led a move with a group of student board members to request for extra study venues. But it got worse for Joseph, the college laid charges of fraud and altering on him and even got him arrested for two nights.

He calls, " it was very hard to see people do that to me. But am proud of having represented students at my college in as many ways I thought. I feel proud to have been a part of history at the college". His other colleagues on the student board got suspended.

Three weeks after his expulsion, a senior from his time as board president at the college directed him to someone who offered him a full scholarship to the United States to further his studies. He is set to join the Florida State University during the fall semester for his postgraduate studies.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
