Arrest warrant issued for suspect in rural Mission murder

Deputies with the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office are asking for the public’s help locating a suspect wanted in connection with last week’s murder in rural Mission Salvador Alaniz Rodriguez, 44, is wanted for the murder of Cesar Eduardo Jaramillo, 19, who was found dead from a gunshot to the head in the early morning hours on Aug. 22.
After receiving calls from neighbors on Trey Leal Avenue about shots fired, deputies responded to a home around 1:53 a.m. where they found Jaramillo outside with multiple gunshot wounds.
Spokeswoman Jena Palacios said the house was "a random property" not connected with De Los Santos.
“Cesar was allegedly arguing with a former business partner, identified as… Eulalio De Los Santos, over money owed to the victim,” according to a sheriff's news release.
Investigators confirmed witnesses’ statements with video surveillance that revealed Jaramillo went to De Los Santos’ business, “where he was taken against his will, and later killed.”
The sheriff’s office confirmed that the investigation into Jaramillo’s death is ongoing and more arrests are to follow.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild.
