Coach Leonard "Zig" Ziglar former Carrol High School Coach, Ozark, AL and current Wiregrass Futbol Club Director of Coaching has been contacted by the United States Soccer Federation (USSF) to help provide fresh ideas to the USMNT program.

Looking for a new direction for the program in the wake of not completing World Cup Qualifying for Russia in 2018. The USSF is looking for a new direction to try and spark life into the program, by bringing in young talented coaches. In the hopes that these coaches can connect better with the players and use that connection to turn this program around.

Coach Zig has been coaching for 18 years in the youth and high school ranks. He has been involved with numerous soccer organization over his coaching tenure. The USSF representative said the Federation has been impressed with Coach Zig body of work over the years, he has been named Youth Coach of the Year (2013), took over a high school program the only had 9 returning players made a run into the playoffs his 1st season (2014), follow year had 100+ players at tryouts, started the Junior Varsity Program for the school 6-6 record that season, Varsity team in 2015 won the Capital of Dreams Cup, started season 7-0. In the Club environment, the Development Academy that he started in 2017 is finishing up a successful first season. We are hopeful we can work something out with Coach Zig to bring him on-board.

We reached out to Coach Zig for comment after receiving word about USSF communication with a local coach. Coach Zig said "I was honored to speak with the Federation about this opportunity, but I'm currently focus on finishing out the current soccer season tonight with the 10U Development Academy Program vs Troy All-Stars and over the week at the Alabama Soccer Festival is Orange Beach, AL with 12U WFC Girls team. whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
