Friday morning the Shands ER was fairly quiet, blessedly slow as ambulances arrived in rapid succession with 6 University of Florida students. All of the students were members of sorority Eta Omicron Alpha Chi located just off campus in Gainesville, Florida. As was their morning ritual they were watching the CBS This Morning Show but what differed this morning was that they decided to play a drinking game that was interactive with the news show. Gayle King news anchor on the show since October 2011 was the center of the game as a peculiar quirk had been noted with her on-air persona. It seems that Ms King is incapable of conducting an interview, be it with a popular cultural icon or government official, without using 1st person pronouns and quite frequently it seems. It has been reported that 12 shots of tequila were downed during the first half of the show when Ms King interviewed Vice President Pence and 10 shots with her dialog with Viet Nam President Tr?n ??i Quang. Blood alcohol levels were reported to be 5 times the state of Florida's legal limit of 0.08 and two of the victims need to be on respirators for a short time.
All of the students were juniors and had been sorority members for several years, so it appears this wasn't a hazing gone bad but rather just poor judgement on the part of the students and poor interviewing on the part of Ms King.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
