The September Bloodbath
Dear America,

The world is imperfect and satanic.

A few years ago, our country faced its deadliest day in history. On the bright Tuesday of September 11th, a plane appeared out of the clouds and penetrated the 80th floor of the 110-story building which killed hundreds of people and confined even more in the higher levels. Minutes later after the first plane smashed the North Building, another plane (United 175) ventured out of the sky only to smash into the South Building. At 9:45AM, another plane (American Airlines 77) roamed around Washington DC and nosedived and struck the west side of the Pentagon headquarters. All 64 passengers on-board the airliner were killed. A fourth plane bound for California was hijacked and crashed into a rural field in west Pennsylvania and cost all 45 passengers their lives (“9/11 Attacks”). America had been stabbed in the back.

To the families who were strode over by this monstrous catastrophe, I feel you. I too have witnessed my sister’s fate as she went down with Flight 175. That moment had left a gaping hole in my heart, and even until now, I find that hole to be very formidable and the memories and fear of her lost still haunt me to this day.

Having the role of a journalist has enabled me to reach out to more people and communicate with them more quickly. Days after the attacks, I got the opportunity to interview and question people how they feel about America. One lady mentioned, “After 9/11, I do not feel as proud of my government. Our country has failed us. I also came to know the difficulty of dealing with public agony (Forever Mourning Loved Ones Lost in the Attacks).” Another had told me that he had learned to live with the difficulty of being branded as the family of a 9/11 victim (her sister)- even if I am reminded of the memories of our childhood and adult life, I must close the discussion with her death (Forever Mourning Loved Ones Lost in the Attacks). Jumping into conclusions, I suppose America has lost the trust of many.

Oh America, what have you done to get yourself into a mess like this? In all sincerity, we, the people, are concerned not only for your welfare but for our safety as well. We simply can not settle with the precariousness of this conflict.

Today, the son of the infamous mastermind of this assault, Omar bin Laden, is interviewed by The Guardian and recounts the day of the carnage in America. When asked about having matching ties with his father, he replies, “My father never asked me to continue his work, but he did tell me that I was the chosen son--the one to continue his empire, the al Qaida. He was disappointed when I rejected to such actions. I really despise disagreement or violence (“Osama Bin Laden's Son: Why I Refused to Follow in My Father's Footsteps”). This utter nonsense! Nevertheless, this man’s blood is corrupt and depraved. His entire family is responsible to not even give a damn about those lives lost. If he disagreed to his father’s careless doings, why hadn’t he taken his word for it? How is he able to convey such an unconcerning emotion to the deaths of hundreds of innocent people? Such a hypocrite this man is!

To everybody reading this, let me remind all of you once more that we, the people of America, can not be silenced. We will fight against Osama bin Laden and the brutishness of the al Qaida. This is the man responsible for the September bloodbath, and we will not stop until we have given him a taste of his own medicine. As President Bush had once stated in his speech, ”It was a dark day for America, but America’s dignity cannot be shattered. Even though times like this have been faced, America must and will get up and move on. America’s determination cannot be crushed by the hands of terrorism (“9/11 Attacks”), let this remind us, Americans, that we will not back down from this fight, our fight.

With the hope and strength that still lie in your hearts,

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
