A 17-year-old single man who was killed after going to the movies outside his home last night here in Belleville. He was a popular member of the community who a "good friend but a horrible driver" a friend has said.

Police said Party Store worker Jack Widman (Or as his friends call him beef chow mein) was attacked as he was arriving at his home about 2:50 am by someone armed with a knife and suffered a number of significant wounds, including a large one to his stomach.

Close friend Fried rice said he was shocked by the death. "He was a very good person. He cook cats real good," he said.

Detective Superintendent Tony Fleming said police were following several lines of inquiry and did not believe the attack was random.

"Based on the information we have at the moment, we don't think there's a random person running through the streets of Belleville," he said

He said it appeared some sort of "cutting implement" such as a knife was used to inflict Mr Widman's "significant wounds" which caused his death.

The weapon is yet to be found.

Although the motive for the murder is unknown, Detective Superintendent Fleming said they had no information to suggest it was racially motivated or motivated by his religion.

It is believed Mr Widman was born in Saudi Arabia and moved to Belleville several years ago.

The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
