Heads up to people who shop at Aldi. The amount of money needed to rent a cart from Aldi is going from 25 cents to $1. You are probably thinking you will just deposit four quarters and that the cart will dispense them in a designated change slot when you return the cart but you would be mistaken. A spokesperson for Aldi said the carts will continue to work the same way they always have except you will now be required to insert a $1 silver dollar in order to rent a cart, so if you have any $1 silver dollars on display, you'll need to make sure to grab them before heading to your local Aldi. Aldi also warns you to not just half-heartedly push the cart into the cart corral by the entrance from a distance as you won't get your silver dollar back and just jeopardized your chances of shopping with Aldi again. They also advise you to not go to a shopper with an empty cart and say "I'll take that.". While that is a nice gesture, the other person won't get their silver dollar back, meaning you just effectively committed fraud and ruined their chances of shopping at Aldi again. If you just can't resist yourself, Aldi is not the store for you. Another change Aldi is rolling out is removing bagging stations from the stores and banning bags from coming in the store meaning your items will be completely bag-less ala Sam's Club. Aldi was the odd man out in terms of grocery stores in that you had to bag the items yourself by either bringing your own bags or buying from their set of reusable bags and then go to the bagging station to bag your items. This new change seeks to eliminate that. They also have plans to make prices even lower by shipping products straight to the store with no packaging whatsoever unlike most stores. If this happens, items may cost anywhere from 1 cent to 20 cents instead of the current prices and Milk could be as low as 10 cents.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
