Reports have come in that Disney CEO Bob Iger has been in talks with HASBRO owner to buy HASBRO. The news is shocking and no one expected it. This morning Bob Iger announced that Disney has acquired HASBRO for 5 billion dollars.

This deal guarantees that Disney will acquire the rights to some of the most iconic properties such as Transformers, GI Joe, My Little Pony, Monopoly, Battleship and many more.

Bob Iger commented this morning that he loves the deal and say the future is bright.

Bob Iger spoke " Today I am proud to announce, The Walk Disney Company is acquiring HASBRO. The global toy company. And is the home of the Transformers and GI Joe and many more properties. In addition to getting the rights to some of the greatest family properties and epic stories, Disney is also acquiring all of HASBRO's operating businesses. Disney has a unique ability to grow strong brands and expand fantastic creative content as we have proven with our successful acquisitions of MARVEL, PIXAR AND Lucasfilm. The Transformers and GI Joe universes have so many amazing characters and amazing stories. This gives Disney infinite inspiration and opportunity's to create a new rebooted transformers and GI Joe universe. The Transformers and GI Joe will be incorporated into the MARVEL Cinematic Universe. Fans can expect new feature films. A Transformers reboot in 2020 and a GI Joe reboot in 2021. And there will be more featured films, as well as consumer products, television products, games and theme park attractions. We are thrilled that HASBRO has trusted us with the future of the legacy and company that they have built. We understand the responsibility when it comes to being the caretakers of such iconic characters that are loved by hundreds of millions all over the world."

Disney has been acquiring many properties lately and doesn't seem to stop any time soon. It's like all the other studios should give in and sell to Disney. We also can finally get a great Transformers film and a great GI Joe film.

    whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
