(CHICAGO, IL) “Is today January 12th?”

“All day!”

You may have heard this or a similar exchange in the past and it usually elicits at least a chuckle if not a grimace.

Well, next Thursday, if you happen to hear this dialog, you may boldly refute the response of “all day!”

It so happens that, according to physicists at University of Chicago, on that day, January 25th, 2018 a small piece of time from another date will find its way into the stream. Specifically, the moment originally occurring on June 16, 1963 at 2:03:37 A.M. GMT will be inserted between the seconds 11:21:21 P.M GMT and 11:21:22 P.M GMT. The inserted slice has a duration of less than a second.

Those born prior to June 16, 1963 will experience a blackout or memory gap lasting about ten picoseconds. (A picosecond is equal to one trillionth of a second.) Those individuals who have died since that date will have their consciousnesses be resurrected for that brief period of time. To all others it will just seem like a momentary memory flashback so brief the brain will not even have a chance to register it.

It is not expected to have any effect whatsoever on the operation of computers throughout the world – ten picoseconds is a much shorter period of time than the quickest cycle on today’s fastest machine. Still, many cynics are predicting disasters on the order of those incorrectly forewarned of for the Y2K event.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
