On the morning of January 19th, Yakima Valley Community College staff members noticed that one of the English Professors was not present for her classes. No announcement was made stating she would be gone for any period of time. To top it all off, a wave of loved ones of the students in a 10:30 AM English 102 class have been reported missing.

Fast forward to January 21st when a letter was received by the local Yakima police from the professor herself:
"Don't worry about the students, I'm keeping them fed and hydrated--I don't want to kill them, if that's what you're thinking this is! I simply want the most beautiful and exotic breeds of horses sent to my home as soon as possible, then I will let all the pupils go," the professor writes. "For every horse I don't approve of, I keep the students one week longer, so be careful."

Update: One student has managed to escape as of January 23rd. The eighteen-year-old freshman managed to slip out during the night and make it back to town. "The house she kept us in was a little cramped but honestly, I have nothing to complain about. Sure we weren't allowed to leave," the student explains, "but we had games to play, TV to watch, three meals a day, all that jazz. I just wanted to get out because I missed my pet guinea pig Oscar."

The photo attached is a police drawing of the house the student described. Twelve hours later, the house was found in the backwoods of the Yakima Valley and the students were sent home. The professor was charged with kidnapping but because of her good treatment to the students, she was sentenced only to four weeks of community service. The professor did not receive her exotic-bred horses.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
