It seems as if NFL reporter Nick Lewis has difficulty completing one-year contracts for NFL news networks.

In the spring of 2016, Lewis signed a one-year deal with NFL Network, to serve as a secondary outlet for reporting NFL news to NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport.

Fast forward to roughly one year later, in June of 2017, and we have CBS Sports or NFL on CBS signing Lewis to a whopping one-year, $37 Million dollar contract, to report NFL news on his personal Facebook timeline. Outrageous.

Just 21 days after Lewis signed with CBS, the network's CEO, Les Moonves, announced he and Lewis were working toward a new extension. People were reasonably confused, as it made Moonves seem as if he had acquired a prized NFL player in a blockbuster trade, and had finally agreed to a contract extension with said player.

As more details of the new contract unfolded in late June of 2017, one of two events had happened. Either Nick Lewis magically "finnessed" Moonves into paying him an extra $37 Million for just the 2017 season, or Moonves totally screwed up. When the terms of the deal were disclosed on CBSSports.com on the morning of June 22, 2017, more confusion ensued.

Everybody thought there is a massive misunderstanding, but, that was not the case. CBS had actually taken Lewis his already guaranteed salary of $37 Million, and just added another $37 Million onto his current deal, for just the 2017 season! So instead of a once thought $37 Million for a season's work from June to June, Lewis will have amassed a staggering $74 Million from CBS by June 21, 2018, for one year of work.

Now, however, sources from both NBC and CBS are confirming that CBS has traded Nick Lewis to NBC, in a case where Lewis was recruited by a good friend who works for NBC, to come over to his side. Sources also say NBC is buying out Lewis' outrageous contract, which is currently set to pay him the remaining numbers in the one-year, $74 Million CBS deal.

This comes as the ultimate surprise, but it also doesn't. We've seen Lewis either opt out of, or accept a trade to a new network before. Now that Nick Lewis is joining his fairly-long friend Mike Florio as NBC's NFL news insiders just days before the NFL free agency period, we should expect to see some mass improvement from NBC this off-season in the NFL news department, as the network just formed a near untouchably dominant NFL news team.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
