North Smithfield, R.I. With the Swamp Donkeys gearing up for a tough, best of 3 battle with the Jabronis, a trip to the finals isn’t the only thing on the line. According to multiple sources, head coach Rob Mainville is contemplating retirement at the conclusion of this season. It seems as if no matter what the outcome of this season will be, he has had enough. Rumors began to heat up once word spread that he would not be available to coach game 1 of the series tonight. With all of this going on, the Donkeys are trying not to let it bother them. “We don’t really pay attention to the outside noise,” Donkeys captain Jared Bebeau said. He continued, “We honestly haven’t heard about anything about this, we are trying to focus on the Jabronis and that’s what we will do.” When asked about the absence of coach Rob tonight, Bebeau said, “It’s obviously going to be a little different, but we have a game plan set and we just have to stick to that and hopefully come out with the W.”

There is still no word on why exactly Coach Rob will not be available to coach tonight, but it does seem as if he might be on his way out. All the Donkeys can do is play their hearts out and hope for the best. This doesn’t seem to be an internal issue, however. “There hasn’t been any bad blood between any of us players and coach Rob. He is an outstanding coach, led us to a championship title in 2016 and looking to win another one with him as our head coach this season,” Forward Eric Breault said. He continued, “No, he hasn’t lost the locker room. We respect him, we listen to him, and we will do anything for him.”

Regardless, Game 1 is set for tonight at 10:10 PM. The lineup might look something like this:

Forwards
Lapierre-Jones-Dinges
Breault-Hopkins-Brown
Taddeo

Defense
Hanley-Cwis
Cuneo-Breault

Goalie
Jared Bebeau

Head Coach

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
