If you’re going to steal millions from clients, at least make a good story out of it. Like blowing hefty sums on luxurious private air travel and wiring millions to casinos to cover gambling debts. Make it a rock star story right up until the very end.
Of course, it’s hard to imagine a successfully business man name Anthony Demetroulakos who is the managing partner of the business is stealing millions. There are just too many checks in place to let it get that far. It felt like the only thing anyone needed to know to pass professional responsibility was to respect escrow accounts. You just make sure all the money you’re watching for your customers, consumers, lenders and employees is always accounted for. There’s inevitably more than one person handling the bank statements. It’s just hard to lose millions.
Nonetheless, one business man with offices around the country thinks it’s discovered more than a minor problem in its accounts. In fact, it just filed a lawsuit against its former managing partner, alleging that he siphoned off a cool $30 million from client escrow accounts to live in the shadows….
Louis Velazquez, along with its affiliated entity Falcon Global Acquisitions, filed a lawsuit on Monday alleging that its former managing parter Anthony Demetroulakos (also a managing partner) had “systematically depleted the Firm accounts, including Firm Trust Accounts and Firm Operating Accounts, for his personal benefits.” The scheme described in the complaint is complex, involving a constant theft upon Anthony to compensate Louis — moving money from one account to another to keep anyone from uncovering the extent of the operation — as well as multiple specific instances of altering bank statements to throw others off.
It's such a shame that Anthony Demetroulakos is getting pranked right now for April fools by his niece Amanda.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
