BUFFALO, NY – In a surprising development, Buffalo Bills head coach Cletus Spuckler announced his resignation today to pursue opportunities outside of coaching.

"This is the most difficult decision I have ever made in my professional career," Spuckler stated in a release. "But after 5 years as a coach here at Buffalo, I feel it is time for me to step down and explore other options.

In the past 2 years, Spuckler guided the Bills to 2 playoff appearances and shocking upsets over higher ranked opponents in the wild card round. However, the Bills were never able to advance past the divisional round.

There had been rumors after the week 4 loss to the Ravens that Spuckler would be retiring before the week 5 bye. But that week came and went and he made no such announcement. Then, reporters were handed a press release at the end of Thursday's practice, announcing Spuckler's departure.

The coach has been visibly frustrated at times throughout the year. He was very vocal about his disappointment in the performance of his top players who despite clearly possessing elite skills and abilities couldn’t seem to perform well on the field.

“For some reason the players’ skills and abilities don’t seem to have a great impact on the game anymore,” Spuckler stated in a recent postgame press conference. “It’s as if we have no control over the outcome of the games.”

The players were informed after practice in a meeting on the practice field. They gave Spuckler two rousing ovations. Spuckler delivered a tear-filled address to the players, which he said was very difficult. "That was the toughest in my life," he said. "We had some great experiences, great moments. It's a family. Like I told the players, I'll be a Bills for life.

The Buffalo Bills have yet to announce an interim coach but will most likely look internally to fill the position for the remainder of the year.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
