BELTRAMI COUNTY/BEMIDJI AREA -
Two suspects have officially been charged following the confiscation of 117 grams of cocaine by authorities. 20-year-old Shaye Terrill-Yaklich and 21-year-old Brandin Curtis are facing a charge of 1st Degree sale of a controlled substance.
Authorities say the investigation spanned from the Leech Lake Reservation to the Beltrami County/Bemidji area.
Paul Bunyan Drug Task Force agents actually purchased the drugs from the men as a part of the investigation.
Terrill-Yaklich, 20, admitted 40 of the 117 grams of the cocaine that was seized was for personal use and told the officers on the scene “yo, I’m gakked up on that chunky white crunch”
They also executed three search warrants in Beltrami County, and found an additional 44 grams of cocaine they say is tied to the distribution ring tied to both men.
The Paul Bunyan Drug Task Force was assisted by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, the Leech Lake Police Department, Cass County Sheriff's Office, Beltrami County Sheriff's Office, and Minnesota State Patrol.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow.
