A Paterson coach was arrested on Wednesday following allegations that he sexually assaulted 4 former players, police stated.

Keith Gilchrist--Head Director and Coach of the NJ Sparks EYBL--allegedly had multiple sexual encounters with 4 former players in a school gym and his vehicle, police stated.

The accusations surfaced after the players notified their parents, who contacted the police. One of the players said the encounters had been happening for at least a month, according to police.

Gilchrist 45, faces charges of sex abuse, engaging in a criminal sex act and committing an act in a manner injurious to a child.

Parents are asking that Gilchrist immediately be removed as Head Coach of NJ Sparks EYBL or any other position revolving minors.

It was not clear if he had obtained an attorney as of Thursday morning.
